Other useful resources
There's numerous other resources out on the web, including several blogs, that are useful for planning a long distance bike ride - whether it's a Land's End to John o'Groats trip or elsewhere.
There's also some great Facebook groups that might give you inspiration and support:
- Bicycle touring UK and Mainland Europe - this is a group of over 10,000 members dedicated to UK and European cycle trips. Useful place to ask for advice.
- Long Distance Cyclists - with nearly 70,000 members from across the world, this very active group can be great inspiration for some truly epic rides.
- Cycle Touring Festival - a group for those interested in the aforementioned Cycle Touring Festival (before the pandemic this took place in Clitheroe, Lancashire, in May each year; it has since moved online with a small in-person gathering in October 2022).
